STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl or simply Stalker is a first person shooter game developed and published by GSC Game World. Released on March 20, 2007, the game is available on Microsoft Windows based Pc only. Its sequel STALKER Clear Sky is also ready to rock the PC on 15th. You can play this game in both single player and multiplayer modes. The current released version is 1.0006 as of March 11, 2008. Along with the elements of first person shooter games, STALKER also displays some elements of role playing video games. Most of the game terminology is based on a 1979 film Stalker and science fiction book Roadside Picnic. The plot for the game is set at the “The Zone” Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant where second nuclear disaster has caused serious environmental changes. STALKER is set in the alternate reality aftermath first Chernobyl Nuclear disaster. There have now been loss of flora and fauna and you can observe even changing laws of physics. Your role is to bring the people to The Zone.

STALKER gameplay is sandbox styled with proving artificial intelligence. It offers free to play style gameplay. You can see post nuclear symptoms that have changed the structures of the creatures. Animals AI are excellent. The game engine used in the STALKER renders excellent graphics and wildlife actions which shows how good an AI is. You can see several vehicles in the game but they all are non-controllable. While going from one place to another, you have to move on foot. There are 18 different maps for the STALKER. There are some highly radiated areas in the game which when player enters start receiving highly poisoned radiations resulting in a death of a player even.
