IGI 2: Covert Strike is stealth based first person shooter game developed by Innerloop Studios and published by Codemasters. It was released on March 3, 2003 for PC and Xbox platform only. It was released on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and of course Xbox. IGI 2: Covert strike is the second installment in the series after Project IGI: I’m Going In. You can play it in single player mode only. No multiplayer option was added to the game because developers didn’t feel any need for multiplayer mode. IGI 2 demo had also been released which is available for free download.

Player takes the role of David Jones, an officer of US Army who has been sent on the mission to recover EMP chips stolen by Russian mafias. To recover chips he needs to go to Carpathian Mountains in Russia. The storyline of the game was good but the game proved to be very difficult to play. The game begins with Jones falling from the plane in the forests near Romania where he is to infiltrate in the Russian facility to recover part of the EMP chip. IGI 2Covert Strike offers good stealth based game play but it certainly lacks good weapons at the beginning which makes it very difficult game to play.
