Empire Earth 3 is a real time strategy based video game developed by Rockstar New England and published by Sierra Entertainment. It is also commonly abbreviated as EE3. The lead designer of the game was Matthew Nordhaus. Empire Earth 3 was released on 6 November, 2007 in North America. It was released in Australia on 9 November, 2007 and in Europe on 16 November, 2007. It is the latest release in the Empire Earth games series. The gameplay of Empire Earth 3 is similar to the other games of the series but with the inclusion of some new features. The units and weapons in the game have been increased now. Empire Earth 3 storyline follows the same time period as well. It now has free-form campaign structure similar to other real time strategy games. However it has fewer Eras than other games of the series. Player can choose from any of the three civilizations in the Empire Earth 3. These are Far Easter, Western and Middle Eastern. Player can customize the civilization according to requirements. There are also sub-factions in each civilization.

Empire Earth 3 resembles lot with its predecessor Empire Earth 2. Even the work started short after EE2 was shipped. It uses the similar GameBryo game engine as used in EE2. However, the engine was completely rewritten in order to bring differences between the two. Empire Earth 3 features units that don’t look realistic as in Empire Earth 2. Moreover, EE3 has special visual effects as well. The game offers cartoonish looks to the units. Also the game includes World Domination mode in which player can assault the virtual Earth.

Empire Earth 3 got satisfactorily reviews from the gaming community. It wasn’t welcomed as warmly as its predecessor Empire Earth 2. Despite of changes in game engine the game failed to attract large number of gamers. Even website like Game Spot wasn’t happy with the games graphics and visual effects and gave it a stunning rating of 3.5 out of 10. Similar to Game Spot, Empire Earth 3 was reported as a poor game by other reviewers too. According to them, game AI and combat system is weak and also it includes few bugs.
