Call of Duty: World at War will be a next edition to the Call of Duty series of the games. It is a first person shooter game being developed by Treyarch and distribution to be done by Activision. The game is the next to the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and will be the fifth installment in the series. World at War would be releasing on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Like other games of the series, and not like Modern Warfare, this game too is set around the dilemma of World War 2. The game covers the Pacific Theater and Eastern Front activities.

Call of Duty 4 game’s graphics engine is being deployed in this game too which is known for its excellent graphics and AI techniques. Call of Duty: World at War can be played in either of the two modes: single player mode or multiplayer mode. These modes always differ in their game play. Even though the games play of the Call of Duty: World at War will be new but will be more visible in multiplayer mode only. Multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: World at War offers co-operative play by supporting four players at a time. This has been new to the series as it is going to be introduced for the first time.

The plot of the Call of Duty: World at War is being set around the World War 2 activities but it isn’t just another World War 2 video game. It has something special to offer. The game includes lot of new elements and inspiringly different game play than other WW2 games. Call of Duty: World at War includes new swimming element which has been introduced for the first time in the series. However the speed at which player swims in the Call of Duty: World at War is not so high. Player can swim at only half of his speed. The game will also reintroduce Flamethrowers that were previously introduced in Call of Duty: United Offensive.
