Pirates of the Burning Sea is massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) adopted from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”. It was developed by Flying Lab Software and published by Sony Online Entertainment. Flying Lab Software took more than the anticipated time to develop the game. Pirates of the Burning Sea was released on 22 January, 2008 and is available for Microsoft Windows platforms only i.e. Windows XP and Windows Vista. As it is MMORPG, so Pirates of the Burning comes in online multiplayer mode only and not any single player mode exists for it.

The plot of the Pirates of the Burning Sea is set in the Caribbean of 1720 where lots of sea pirates used to live and threat people going through the sea. The game offers career mode in which player needs to choose the career for their avatars. All abilities to the avatar are given after the career is chosen. Pirates of the Burning Sea feature six avatars for the player that he can create on the single server. Avatars can take the role of either pirate or one who fights for his nation. Players in Pirates of the Burning Sea gain rankings as they move into the game. Rankings allow player to manage larger ships and have more abilities.

Pirates of the Burning Sea include a feature called Swashbuckling that allows player to choose any of the three fighting styles to learn and use them in combat. These styles are dirty fighting, fencing, and Florentine. Florentine has the highest defensive abilities of the three. Pirates of the Burning Sea feature almost 55 ships while new ships can be added later. Players capabilities also depends upon the ship he choose. Along with this Pirates of the Burning Sea feature 11 different canon types included in the game. Players can also create their own ships in the game.

Pirates of the Burning Sea include special feature called Durability that deals with the ship losses. Maximum money is spent on keeping the ships hard-wearing for player’s safety. Players also form societies based on the members of the same nation. Players in Pirates of the Burning Sea can also produce goods and trade them with other players along with their own consumption. Pirates of the Burning Sea music is over two hours long swashbuckling music composed by Adam Gubman along with Jeff Kurtenacker. No-copies of the official soundtrack exist now.
