Diablo 2 is the role playing action game developed by Blizzard North and published by Blizzard Entertainment, Sierra Entertainment and Handbitsoft. It is the sequel to popular Diablo video game and it itself is very popular. The game is available for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Diablo 2 battles are real time battles using isometric viewpoint. The game includes maps most of which are randomly generated. Main attention of Diablo 2 is on combat. Player can play any of the five different characters: Paladin, Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress and Necromancer, each character having different attributes and strengths. There are three difficulty levels in Diablo 2 namely Normal, Nightmare and Hell.

Diablo 2 despite of single player version, is mainly an online multiplayer game. The game can be played be either via LAN or via battle.net gaming server. Diablo 2 online version is almost alike to single player version with an exception that online version includes randomly generated maps each time. Chatting facility is also available in the online multiplayer version. It is assumed that Diablo 2 has nearly 22 released patches. Actual figure is not known. The game was a superb hit for Blizzard Entertainment giving them the place they deserve for.
