Doom 3 is developed and marketed by id software. It is a first person shooter (FPS) video game that also has a hint of science fiction, and survival horror. It was released on August 3, 2004. Doom 3 demo is not like original Doom demo. Doom 3 is built on completely different engine than that of Doom and its graphics are also high as compared to original Doom. It is available in both single player and multi player modes. There is a free demo Doom 3 download available also.

Doom 3 is available for all the PC platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Mac and is also available on Xbox. Originally, it was released for Windows based PCs only but was later ported to Linux and other platforms. The version released for Xbox is developed by Vicarious Visions. This version of Doom 3 is graphically similar to original game and it also features an additional online co-operative mode for two players.

Doom 3 features the same gameplay as that of original Doom. It is set in the year 2145 on some fictional place named Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) at Mars. Aim of the game is to run from the hostile environment to the safety area. Player takes the role of UAC marine and he can move in either of the four directions very unsimilar to other first person shooter games. Doom 3 also features several new and old weapons like that inherited from Doom and Doom 2. There are also some lighting effects shown in the Doom 3 video game.
